Hi, I have applied to IIMA via the Supernumerary Quota (International Students). I would like to know the number of applicants in this quota vs the number of admissions offered to have a better understanding of my chances of getting in. Thanks!
Hi Vaishnavi, IIMA has kept aside 10% of the seats for international students to improve diversity. Looking at a class size of around 450, this translates to around 40-45 seats which I think makes it fairly less competitive to get into the programme than for the domestic students.
Vaishnavi - Thank you so much for your response! I have a couple of follow up questions as well. 1. Is the international student quota similar in IIMB as well? 2. What is the interview structure like? Is there something specific I should be preparing for? Thanks once again!
Roy Cherian - Hi Vaishnavi, most IIMs, including IIMB, have an international quota to encourage diversity. I don't know the exact numbers for IIMB. But most of the international quota is not filled up in these institutes. So from a competitiveness perspective there is no stress. But you have to meet the minimum criteria in the interview and standardised to be selected.
Roy Cherian - For any interview there are three questions you have to be prepared well for. 1. Take me through your resume / Tell me something about yourself. Dont make the mistake of just going through the resume. You have to make it interesting by giving, why, how etc for each of the major decision points. 2. Why MBA? What are your short term long term plan? How iwll MBA help. 3. Why IIMA
